TECH TO PROTECT
Help protect snow leopards smarter, faster and more safely
You can transform our research and keep our teams safe with two critical pieces of infrastructure.
Will you help purchase these crucial tools in time for our spring collaring season? Funding deadline Feb. 28.
A satellite communication system will allow us to:
- Conduct real-time scientific monitoring of snow leopards, dramatically reducing research response time
- Perform rapid remote troubleshooting of GPS collars and monitoring systems
- Improve our research team's safety and operational effectiveness in these hard-to-reach areas
Thermal imaging cameras will advance our conservation programs by enabling us to:
- Increase the accuracy of ibex population counts (a key snow leopard prey species)
- Better understand the intricate relationships between snow leopards, ibex, and local livestock
- Use this new and improved data to design targeted predation prevention strategies, reducing conflicts between snow leopards and livestock owners
Your gift will bring us one step closer to securing a future for snow leopards.
